I am completely stunned yet excited that Expat and the City was even nominated and that enough readers voted for us to make it to second place in representing Kuwait. There are so many amazing expat blogs in Kuwait so I feel very honored and humble.
You can read below what they wrote:
| Expat and the City (silver) Adventurous, American girl living and working in Kuwait while supporting our US Troops overseas in the Middle East. You can follow my daily expat life experiences in Kuwait, travels around the world and whatever interest We say: A surprising variety of topics ranging from the quirky to the serious. |
I want to thank all of our readers, our Kuwaiti blogger friends, the Expat Blog website and congratulate the other winners in Kuwait from America and Canada.
I would like to close out by linking a few of my favorite posts:

Thank you everyone for your support from day one. A special thanks to the girls for the adorable, congratulatory picture! <3
Congratulations! Your blog is utterly one of a kind and deserves the award! Although the silver medal is rewarding and reassuring of the high quality of your posts, it's not suitable for your blog caliber. As a Kuwaiti, I find your blog quite informative and worth the time. I can imagine its value to the expat community in Kuwait. For instance, your Tour Kuwait and hotel posts are unique and not seen in other blogs. It definitely beats the mediocre posts that plague other blogs. Forget the silver or platinum, your blog is solid gold. Excuse the fanboy comment :p
ReplyDeleteAwwww, what a sweetheart you are. <3 Thank you. I was surprised at the winners (including myself). I would have thought Desert Girl, Ladies Who Do Lunch in Kuwait and American Girl would have won by a landslide. They have lived in Kuwait forever and tell personal stories as well as keep expats informed in Kuwait. Usually the winners are chosen by how many positive comments are given to each blog. Since none of the Kuwaiti Expat blogs had comments it looks like they just picked blogs. They are good but it was surprising nevertheless. I'm more excited that I'm over one million hits. It's really shocking! :)
