"Yes, the Kazakhstan anthem from Borat. The same one that includes lyrics which extoll Kazakhstan's prostitutes as the cleanest in the region, calls Israel Jewtown, discusses testes and is prideful of an 80% effective waste filtration system. That song. From the movie that completely embarrassed Kazakhstan." Quote & Source: Gizmodo.com
My thoughts: LOOOOOOOOL!!! It's not like Kuwait did it on purpose. It was just a major F up. Everyone should laugh it off and move on. If this happened to an American athlete they would have probably fallen on the floor laughing. I think she handled herself really well and what a pretty smile. :)

If it happened to a Kuwaiti athlete, Kuwait would never ever let it go. Long beards would appear out of nowhere and demand apologies and the removal of that ambassador from Kuwait. I don't think it is a little issue. I think that if Kuwait wants to play (anything - including business) in a global arena, they need to get professional. What a tremendous disgrace.
ReplyDeleteReally what a HUGE mistake. Who are these idiots running this place? I think Kazakstan should pull the Kuwaiti ambassador in and demand an apology that's if they even have an Embassy in Kazakstan. NO SOUP FOR YOU!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it wasn't done on purpose, but it's definitely evidence of the lack of effort put into doing their job! They couldn't even find the right anthem to play? Did a quick Google search while sipping on tea and that was the extent of their research? How incredibly disrespectful. I don't care how significant or insignificant some people think one country is compared to another. National Anthems are part of the pride we take in our home -- regardless of what country it is! A public apology should be made to this young lady who composed herself quite professionally during this outrageous atrocity. Shameful!
ReplyDeleteThis has 'an international incident' written all over it! What an embarrassment :(.
ReplyDeleteOmg, what an embarrasement !

ROTFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteHey Kenny! :) How if life back in the US?
DeleteI thought it was hilarious!!! I think it will go down in history as the funniest blooper Kuwait ever committed.
I have seen comments on youtube and other sites laughing about this incident. I don't think it is funny at all. These athletes represent their countries and should not have to endure an embarrassing moment like this. I can't help but think if this had happened in the US that there would be worlwide protests and burning of the American flag on every news station. People need to be held accountable no matter what government or king they serve. I do applaud this young woman for handling the situation with class. I just don't see how Kuwait can shrug this off so nonchalantly considering Borat was BANNED in Kuwait for the way it portrayed Kazakhstan. @American Girl shameful is RIGHT!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh boy !! .. lol
