Kuwait: I LOVE You!

US congratulates Kuwait on National, Liberation days

WASHINGTON, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton congratulated Friday evening on behalf of US President Barack Obama and the people of the US the people of Kuwait on the 51st National Day and 21st anniversary of Kuwait's Liberation Day.

Clinton said in a statement that the US "shares a long history of friendship and cooperation with Kuwait, rooted in shared values, democratic traditions and institutions built on a foundation of respect for human dignity and the pursuit of a more peaceful and prosperous world." She stressed that Kuwait's recent parliamentary elections "are a testament to Kuwait's democratic traditions and proud history." "As you celebrate this special day and reflect on all that you have accomplished, know that the United States is a partner and friend," she affirmed.

"Best wishes for a year of peace, prosperity, and happiness," the US top diplomat remarked.
