Black Magic ~ Hugh Hefner's been a fan for years...
Arab Times, Kuwait City, July 17, 2011 : Police have arrested a young Kuwaiti man for allegedly practicing black magic and having sex with his victims, reports Alam Alyawm daily. The arrest came following a complaint filed by a divorced Kuwaiti woman accusing the man of having sex with her. The complainant said she met the magician in a chat room and he claimed to have powers to solve marital problems with her ex-husband. He then lured her to meet him in his apartment and ‘raped’ her. When police arrested the man he admitted to having sex with the woman. He added it is through inducing women to have sex with him he gets power to cure their ills. He has been referred to the authorities.

I know it really sounds crazy to some and I respect that. But magic is mentioned in the Quran so we believe it exists. For us (Muslims) to say it doesn't is like saying the Quran is wrong. This is why you'll hear/read a lot of things in the news here relating to magic -- unlike in the states where it's pretty much laughed at as you said.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Girl ~ I apologize for my ignorance. Thank you for explaining it to me. In Christianity we are taught practicing or believing in Black Magic is of the devil. I definitely respect you and Islam so I am so sorry if I offended you or anyone of my readers. I will edit my post.
ReplyDeleteWell depends on the school of thought. Some think it exists some say it doesn't exsits and they are all Islamic school of thought, so laughing at anyone say there is such a thing won't hurt any feeling.
ReplyDeleteI do it all the time :)
Musaed ~ I didn't want to offend any of my readers so I felt it was best to edit my post. I know American Girl was just trying to help me and I really appreciate her for that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support Musaed. :D
Not offended at all. And in no way would your post offend anyone else -- or at least it shouldn't. We're all entitled to our own beliefs and yours should be respected as well.
ReplyDeleteAs for the article itself -- if the man is using 'black magic' as an excuse to have sex with women then he's using Islam as a tool to do haram -- which is far more offensive than your post :)
Has anyone ever found out why The Arab Times always puts quotation marks around the word "raped"? It drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Girl ~ Thank goodness the police caught him. I don't know what the girls were thinking by trusting a stranger they met over the Internet and going to his apartment.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous ~ you should email the Arab Times and let them know. :P
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of controversy (obviously) around this subject.... Magic is one of the oldest practices known to man. It pre-dates all the "religions of the book" and originally matriarchal (practiced and ruled by women). As religion "advanced", most symbols, idols, and even discussion of former religions became illegal/not allowed/bad/evil.
ReplyDeleteI don't belive that Wiccans today, for example, believe magic to be evil.
In many writings, there is the "threefold" law: Anything you do, good or bad, will be returned to you threefold.
Anonymous ~ Thanks for sharing and welcome to my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI just emailed The Arab Times and am eagerly awaiting the enlightening email that will put my frustrations over ""rape"" to rest.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 12:33 AM ~ Loool, let me know if they respond.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the insight on "Black Magic" and the Koran. I always wondered why and how you can be arrested for the practice of "Black Magic" thanks again.
ReplyDeleteKenneth ~ Remember the song, "Black Magic Woman"? I better not sing it out loud in Kuwait. :P
