Diva Alert on Camp Arifjan!

Google Images of Ms. Chaka Khan

This week the singer, Chaka Khan, was on Camp Arifjan to support the US troops in Kuwait.  According to my friends that were able to go to her "meet & greet" she was behaving like a true diva.  Ms. Khan thought Kuwait was too hot and her big hair was a "hot mess" with sweat dripping everywhere.  She wasn't too happy about signing autographs in the middle of July in Kuwait.

Chaka, I Feel For You girl. Thanks for stopping by...

  1. My philosophy is this: If the troops are out there busting their humps in this weather, the dust storms, the heat.... Ms Thang (who was probably paid a LOT of money by the USO or other agency for being here) can put up with a few hours of discomfort to sign autographs for them and make them smile for a little while; diva or not.

  2. DG ~ I agree 100%.

My friends on AJ that saw Ms. Thing said the troops seemed to love seeing her act like a Diva in person. That they ate it up. I would have loved to hear her sing live.

  5. Expat – I would love to see her regardless of the Divaness.  If it was all part of her persona, that’s cool.

Anonymous 8:30 – Don’t get your panties in a bunch. Did you not see “… or another agency”? Do you really believe these celebrities are coming to Kuwait out-of-pocket? Somebody getting paid by somebody.

Anonymous 5:10 – Well said! (by someone who has never been on Arifjan.) I don’t believe any soldiers at military installations (especially the ones where they are not allowed to get off post for months if not years) have a “cushy gig”. Perhaps you are referring to contractors. Unless the Asian girls are part of an authorized contract working on Arifjan (or installation) they can’t get in.

  6. Yeah, but it's only one day of meeting the troops. Hot or not.

  10. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and freedom of speech on this blog. Unless you insult me then: Delete comment. Haha, just kidding. I even post the mean ones.

I just want to say that I support the US troops 100%. My freedom as an American girl is thanks to the men and women that sacrifice for our country everyday. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I used to work with the troops and I can honestly say that most of them do not have it easy in Kuwait. In fact, most of them were on previous tours in Iraq and Afghanistan before coming to Kuwait. Separation from their families for up to a year wouldn't be easy on anyone.
