CHANEL at Salhia Complex in Kuwait

Where your CHANEL dreams can come true...
Inside the lovely Salhia Complex

I don't think the Avenues luxury wing can compete with Salhia's understated elegance.

I helped my friend pick out her first Chanel purse (gift from her bf) and there is a waiting list for the new one that I want. :( Of course I didn't leave one of my favorite stores empty handed...

A happy CHANEL ending :)

  6. When I went to buy my newly wedded wife a channel bag I found ppl piling up and felt like I was at a grocery shop ! All these are here to spend KD 1000+ ?

  7. Dr. Mo Mo ~ not true :P Some men aren't cheap...teeheeehee!

  8. Mishref ~ Chill baby! Spelling mistakes are encouraged on E&TC. :D The disabled right click function is to tick off lazy people. So they have to work a little harder (one more click) to copy images. ;P

Call CHANEL and make an appt so that you will receive 'special attention' when you are a serious buyer. They should take their time with you and help you select the perfect bag for your lovely wife. ;)

  9. Are the roads safe.... you need a twitter! :P
My first trainer fell asleep on the job and let me use my phone :s
Trainer number two actually slapped me when I touched my phone. She scares me. Fear really is the best motivator.

  10. r.alsharif ~ Looool. You are so cute.

I need a personal assistant outside of work as well if I start with Twitter. I have no time to tweet or FB for E&TC. I've been stuck at home all day waiting on a delivery that didn't show up yet.

  11. do they still sell leather inside the bag? because once I went there with Scorpion to get one and mostly from inside weren't leather so I ended up with LV, have you got chanel bag yet?

  12. Pauline ~ I added a picture at the end of my post of the inside of my favorite bag that I own. It's the Jumbo, Caviar Classic and I thought it was leather. Now you made me think because it's very hard inside. Either way I'm a Chanel girl. ;)

  13. yea I can see but why is it made in Italy , I wouldn't buy it unless from France :(

  14. Pauline ~ Looool. Chanel is a French brand but their bags are made in either Italy or France. I don't have a preference (I have both) as long as it doesn't say China. Heehee.

  21. Ameera ~ Looool! Hermes will open a branch in Kuwait soon. Maybe they will send me one for free? I'm not holding my breath. ;)

If you saw me at work (safety girl) you would think I was a "hot mess" and not "chic chick". ;) I do feel pretty again after mani/pedi, massage and full body wax this weekend.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend Ameera :*

  23. Hiya EC, I'm turning 25 this year, and managed to save some $$$ for this bag (my first ever designer purchase). Rather embarrassing but, could you please tell me the cost? I don't wanna walk into the store on my birthday and make a fool of myself if i'm short.. :-$

    Thanks :)

    1. Hi Elen! Please don't be embarrassed because there is no reason to be. ;) Are you purchasing your bag in Kuwait? If so then you will save money because there isn't any tax.

Both of my Chanel bags were gifts. I have a classic Jumbo with SHW and a classic Maxi with GHW. I think Chanel's prices go up around 20% every six months. I would call the boutique you plan to purchase your bag from and ask them the exact price. They will let you know at Chanel but they don't tell you at Hermes (if you are on the wish list). I think the price for a Jumbo now is $4,700 or more and then the Maxi is $5,000 or more. I hope this helps and happy birthday sweetie! :)

    1. You're welcome! I will give you a few tips if you don't mind.

Get a sales agent that is nice and not snobby. Chanel has some snobs but remember they are SALES AGENTS lol! The manager that I loved left to go to Gucci. So once you are comfortable with the sales agent ask to see the bags they have in stock. If there isn't one there that is good enough have them order you a new bag. It takes about a month. Wait for perfection. It's worth it. Also, I prefer the GHW because it looks so nice on the classic. I really don't love my SHW Jumbo. Even on my Birkin bag I have GHW which I love.

Check your bag before you buy it. Look at the stitching of the bag inside and out along with the chains. Also look at the shape of the bag to make sure it is even and well done. Whenever there is a fault they will give you the bs that it's "handmade" but for 5k it better be handmade and perfect.

Do not store your bag in the box all the time or humidity and moisture will ruin the leather. Take it out at least once a week to let it breathe. Protect the bag from chain marks with black felt. Stuff with acid free / bleach free white tissue paper.

      I hope this helps! :)

Thanks for all of your advice about the stitching and the shape..I'll keep my eye out for that :) I'm so clueless about these things :/

      Thanks again gurl :D
